The Kamloops Community YMCA-YWCA has an exciting part time employment opportunity in our Child Care and Youth Department. The After School Care program is hiring a permanent part time Assistant. The After School Care Assistant would be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the Y After School Care program. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, organization, enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills. Applicants must be a minimum of 19 years of age, have a current first aid certificate and relevant childcare experience and education. The successful applicant will be required to obtain a Class 4 drivers license within 60 days of hire. Bus driving duties will be required when the regular drivers are unavailable due to sickness or vacation. The YMCA will allow the successful candidate to train using our 20 passenger bus. This position will commence as soon as possible and runs concurrent with the elementary school year. Candidates must be available to work from 2:00-6:00pm Wednesday to Friday. Additional hours will be available for absences, school breaks and special events.
