Unified Alloys, one of the largest suppliers of specialty steel, alloy piping and instrumentation products in Canada, currently has a WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR LEAD position available in Langley British Columbia.
The Warehouse Coordinator Lead provides leadership and is responsible to communicate with appropriate departments regarding time sensitive orders both incoming and outgoing, status of shipments and status of stock orders. The Warehouse Coordinator Lead keeps the warehouse personnel up to date regarding workload, order allocation and previous day’s occurrences. They must work co-operatively with all personnel to ensure products are shipped in a timely fashion and all necessary paperwork is completed.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
Assume overall responsibility for the warehouse coordination duties.
Allocate work – assign orders to personnel based on capability, efficiency, workload, experience, etc.
Ensure warehouse systems are turned on in the morning and shut down in the evening.
Ensure all orders are prioritized for time of day and in town/out of town deliveries.
Contact dispatchers for pick-up of customer ordered product in a timely manner.
Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties.
Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
Print labels and complete paperwork and documentation in a timely fashion.
Assist the Sales personnel to access information on the status of orders.
Ensure all appropriate visitors sign-in/sign-out.
Monitor the yard facility for speed and safe operation of vehicles.
Act as a leader to ensure Quality, Health and Safety issues and concerns are reported and addressed.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures and techniques including packaging, sorting, stacking, product placement/picking, etc.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities
Effective listening, communication (verbal and written) and phone skills
Stand/walk for duration of work hours
