Therapeutic Residential Program for youth is looking for qualified persons to support high risk youth in a residential setting. This innovative program provides care that is grounded in and directed by a thorough understanding of the neurological, biological, psychological and social effects of trauma and violence on humans. Positions available: HOUSEPARENT – Live in home support worker: 24 hour shifts, full time equivalent is three shifts per week. Please note shifts are compensated using a daily rate of pay as per the BC Employment Standards Act. Rates are commensurate with experience. Successful candidates must be able to provide compassion, internal strength, guidance and competence for young people who have experienced trauma. Support Workers must have proven experience in child care, parenting and/or nurturing young people. They must be able to demonstrate intellectual and emotional maturity. Individuals with psychiatric or mental health experience combined with two year post-secondary education in the human services will be given preference. Certification (have or are willing to obtain): First Aid, Class 5 drivers licence; TCI/CPI training, Suicide Intervention and Food Safe.
