Princeton General Hospital is currently seeking a Permanent Part Time (0.56 FTE) Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our laboratory team.

Princeton General Hospital is a level 1 Community Hospital offering services including acute care, laboratory and 24 hour emergency. PGH is located in a residential setting, in the west end of town. The Medical Lab Technologist is responsible for functions such as greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and related computer systems/programs, validating and reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents in accordance with established procedures and safety standards. Within the context of client-centred care, and in accordance with established standards of professional practice, policies, and procedures, this position works in a team-based environment and performs a variety of routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments within the lab.
This position will work Monday to Friday 07:30-11:30 with some on-call required.

• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
• Eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
